Source-backed profiles
Repository profiles record primary links, review dates, and the evidence behind important technical claims.
An independent, source-checked guide to OpenHW projects, learning materials, and the wider open hardware ecosystem.
Purpose
OpenHW projects, documentation, learning material, and ecosystem links live across many repositories and websites. OpenHW Explorer brings those public sources into one navigable structure.
It is designed for engineers, students, and researchers who need to identify the right project, understand its scope, or move from discovery into source-grounded learning.
Editorial approach
The site favors verifiable sources, practical learning paths, and clear boundaries over exhaustive coverage.
Repository profiles record primary links, review dates, and the evidence behind important technical claims.
New lessons will be published only after their explanations, sources, and presentation have been reviewed.
Resources and news are selected for relevance, with source, date, and project status kept visible.
OpenHW Explorer is maintained independently by its creator and is not an official OpenHW Foundation product. No endorsement by the Foundation or its members is implied. Information is compiled from public sources and may change after review; use official project repositories and documentation for authoritative information.
OpenHW Explorer has no user accounts and does not ask visitors to submit personal information. It uses Vercel Web Analytics for anonymous, aggregate page-view statistics and limited, structured client-error signals; Vercel also processes ordinary hosting request data under its own terms. This site does not set tracking cookies. Browser localStorage remembers display preferences, and feedback opens GitHub Issues.
